Recognition of achievement encourages more learningStudent achievement is recognised with the awarding of trophies, medals, badges, spendable credits, points and congratulatory messages. Trophies - students receive a gold, silver, bronze or glass trophy that is commensurate with the accuracy achieved in each learning exercise. Medals - students are rewarded with gold, silver or bronze medals for their effort competing in the Arena. Badges - students are surprised with collector’s badges for reaching challenging milestones. Credits - students are rewarded with virtual credits for successfully completing learning exercises. Whilst students are encouraged to repeat exercises, they only receive additional credits for improving their time or accuracy. These credits can be used to purchase items to dress up their avatar, or to play fun games in the arcade. Points - a cumulative points tally, encourages students to reach for the stars. Different coloured stars represent the attainment of increasingly difficult milestones. Congratulatory messages - a congratulatory message is automatically sent to students’ virtual mail box to acknowledge a new level of achievement. |
